I Don’t Bite, I Don't Make Lots of Noise

It was a early Christmas celebration @ my work place on Sunday. We had a late supper in buffet style and a gift exchange. Food was nicer even though it was prepared by the same chef who cook supper on regular days (Why can't he cook same for regular meals?). We had like turkey cold platter, chicken wings, fried rice, some sort of noodles (looks like Magee mee to me :P), spring rolls, baby kai lan, mixed vegetables and curry chicken. Dessert was assorted cakes (brownies, cheese cakes etc) and was real nice.

We had a lucky draw to choose our gifts and mine was #13. My gift was wrapped in a "Happy B'day" gift wrapper and had a shape of a mug from outside. But when I went back to my seat and my good friend JC started off "this is what I bought and IT'S VERY GOOD, IT'S VERY GOOD and I'm happy for you ‘cos IT'S VERY GOOD!! And Yeah it's actually very good and super cute Mini dog vacuum who sucks off all the bits and pieces from your desktop, key board, study table etc.

It's so cute and gonna pass it to nur cos it's too cute to be with me :P

Our Rushed Time Together

Woke up late its my off day plus it's the time of the month so no need to wake up for morning prayers. Hehe.. Went for my swim session that I missed on Friday due to unforeseen circumstances. :-D Reached home sweet called to head over his place. It's time to change from Miss Independent to Girlfriend mode! LOL!

We went out to spend some quality time together, too bad he has to rush to work. Think he misses shopping so as a sweet and caring gf (LOQ!) I chauffeured us around. We went to our fav places in town. Kino, Borders went to eat at Ayam Penyet Ria was totally stuffed even till now! Then we head down to Campers Corner to see hydration packs for running. Seems like the want he wants is out of stock. But he managed to get this wicked laces from Nike as their product RED. He put it on his Nike Frees, color doesn't match with his shoes but it looks cool! :) They're selling for $7, got them from Nike shop at Wisma. Been pestering me to get them so we can have another "couple thing". That is just so him! ;) We'll see.. :-P

Most Precious Love (Freemasons Extended Mix)
Great starter, like the beat of this track. Electric/trance songs always makes you fly.

As The Rush Comes (DJ Tiesto Remix)
This track was Introduce to me by my friend many years back. DJ Tiesto’s extended mix is just perfect to last you a moderate speed mile.

We Are Alive (Radio Mix)
Paul Van Dyke at his best. Used to listen to this track as a starting song during my long runs.

Brazil (2nd Edition)
Another great track mixed by Deadmau 5.

Just Dance
This track makes me feel hyper half way during my runs.

Empire State Of Mind
Jigga with talented Alicia keys makes my hair stand up, especially when Alicia goes ‘New Yoooorke’.

Love Story
Ok this is personal. Makes me think of her and the BIG day!! This sweet song is a must no matter it’s a short or a long run.

Changes
My favorite rapper Tupac Shakur’s hit single in 1996. Used to wake up to this song back in 2000 when I gotta be up early morning to study for my A/L’s. My mom likes this song too (no kidding).

Tour De France
Mix of all the best songs by Kraftwerk of their album “Tour De France Soundtracks”.

Sorry
I like the original track but when I heard this track knew this gotta be in my running play list.

Played Alive (The Bongo Song)
This track is from Nur’s 2:36 long run play list. You’ll run 50% faster with this one. Trust me!

Brazil
This is even better than 2nd edition of Brazil.

Dance, Dance, Dance (Dada Life Remix)
Last song and the best song in the list. Sometimes when my runs doesn’t last for the whole play list I’ll skip few songs to make this the last song of my run.

Safe Commuting

When it comes to cycling there are road bikers, mountain bikers, and cruisers (commuters). All great riders and each have a specific purpose. Road bikes for long rides and racing while mountain bikes are for bit of extreme trail riding. But the talk in town is about commuters who use their bikes as transportation. My friends are converting old 10 speeds to fixed gear bikes, because last thing they want is to get stuck in the traffic while going to work downtown, or head to the store carrying a light load home, and cruise around the neighborhood shops and restaurants. Seeing the images of throngs of riders in Amsterdam and Copenhagen made me realize that these people had the right idea: the city (commuter) bike. I got myself a cheap fixie couple of weeks back and feel great every time I hop onto it.

But recently those 3 accidents which involve cyclists has raised the question of how safe is riding in Singapore? Motorists are frustrated with cyclists who road hog and switch lanes abruptly, often without regard for traffic behind them. The cyclists say motorists are impatient and often drive too close and too fast, especially when overtaking. My personal point of view is if both cyclists and motorists should practise good road ethics, accidents can be minimized. Commuters should give way to pedestrians and park their bicycles accordingly at designated parking areas.

Great news is that TAMPINES is set to become Singapore's first cycling town. The Tampines GRC MPs announced on Sunday that after a two-year trial to see if cyclists and pedestrians could share footways safely, cycling on footways will be allowed, starting 1 March 2010 (according to Strait Times).

8km Hill Run

8km Hill Run (Introduced by one of my friend)

If you stay at West Side, there's a nice route to get your hill training done. Kick off at Zheng Hua Park and run until you meet Bukit Timah MTB trail. Don't turn right to MTB trail but keep straight until you meet Dairy Farm Road. Then make a right turn and once you reach traffic light junction keep straight up and you will end up at Bukit Timah Road, turn right and turn right again at Cashew Road. That's the last stretch of the run which is a long steep hill that will lead you to Petir Road. Turn right there and turn left again at the same traffic light you passed by previously and on your left is the same trail that you turn back to Zheng Hua Park. And yeah I'll be running there this evening!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Well just went to his place and he's busy creating a montage of our photos. Sweet! Another thing to keep him busy.. At least for awhile..

We watched Babe on the telly then slept cos he needs to work the night shift. Woke up and had a light dins and off to his workplace. We took this pic together, he said if I looked good then the picture is a good take! Cute but true.. Haha..

I'm missing training. Will swim tomorrow and do some light running the day after, worried about losing my fitness and getting FAT!

Ciao!
